Tarri Driver: artist, author, illustrator

I’m a lifelong creative artist with a wide range of independent, academic, professional and therapeutic arts experience. My decade of work as an art therapist in Nashville (in public schools and a children’s hospital)—along with my experience teaching college-level art therapy courses and later years as an independent art instructor—inform both my worldview and my art. Since relocating from Nashville to a small town in East Tennessee, I have retired from my career as an art therapist and re-embraced artmaking from my home studio, where I write, illustrate, publish original work, design commissions and devise new creative projects.

Forthcoming works include short stories featured in Blood and Bourbon and Dirt Freckles, the third children’s book in my Lunar Mooner Lula series, and a new book of short stories for adults, (working title) Pursuing Terra Firma. My short stories have appeared in issues of: Wising Up Press, Tiny Spoon, Quarter(ly), Five on the Fifth, Literally Stories and CommuterLit.

Curiosity is my main motivator, and through my artmaking, I hope to make some sense of the world while I defiantly pursue truth, provoke thoughtful reflection and cultivate empathy.
